Automation
Scheduled jobs, integrations and small always-on services.
Automation workloads are usually small and long-lived. The important choices are reliability of the schedule and where the machine sits relative to the services it talks to.

What this workload actually needs
Conditions that have to be true before it will work, whatever plan you pick.
Requirements
- Credentials for the services you integrate with, stored on the machine you control.
- A static outbound address if a third party allowlists by IP. Every plan includes at least one IPv4 address.
Deployment considerations
- A single small server is a single point of failure. Decide what happens if it is unavailable for an hour.
- Log rotation matters more here than anywhere else — an unbounded log file is the usual cause of a full disk.
- Reverse DNS can be set from the service page where the plan supports it.
What we do not do
- There is no managed scheduler or queue product. You run cron, systemd timers or your own scheduler.
- Outbound email from a virtual server is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy and to the receiving network.
