Your first order

What happens between placing an order and having a service you can log in to.

Last updated 1 August 2026

An order moves through a small number of states. Each one is visible on the order page, so you can always tell whether you are waiting for a payment, for provisioning, or for something from us.

Order states

Awaiting payment
The order exists but has not been paid.
Payment pending
Your payment is being confirmed. Some methods settle asynchronously.

We need something from you before the order can continue.

Provisioning is not instant

A service is only described as active once provisioning confirms it. We do not mark a server ready before it is.

After provisioning

  1. Open the serviceGo to Services in your dashboard and select the new service.
  2. Collect access detailsThe Access tab shows the hostname, address and how to sign in for the first time.
  3. Add an SSH keyAdding a key and disabling password authentication is the single highest-value change you can make.
  4. Point a domainCreate an A record for the address, either in the DNS editor or at your current DNS host.
